Instead of a heating plate under the pot, induction heats the whole inner pot, which cooks more evenly and controls temperature more precisely.
A 3-cup cooker suits one or two people, 5.5 cups suits most families, 10 cups suits larger families or cooking ahead, and restaurants use 15 cups and up.
